Why is there black residue on the inside of my candle?
If the wick is not trimmed black residue may appear on the inside of your candle jar. Please ensure your wick is always trimmed to 1/4'' and centred before each burn. The black residue can be removed with a wet cloth or paper towel.
What is the difference between soy wax and paraffin wax?
Soy wax and paraffin wax can be used to make container candles. Paraffin wax is derived from petroleum and is a soft colourless solid. It is most popular in candle making as it has a high scent throw. Soy wax is a more natural alternative to paraffin wax. It is a 100% natural, non-toxic and biodegradable wax. Soy wax has a softer texture and burns longer at a lower temperature than paraffin wax.
How long will a Luxury Willow Candle burn for?
Our 275g candles will burn for approximately 48 hours and our 85g candles will burn for approximately 25 hours.
Do I need to trim my candle wick?
Yes. As the candle burns the wick will get longer in length. To ensure the proper burn trim your wick to 1/4 inch and make sure it is upright and centred before each new burn.
Why do I need to burn my candle for 1 hour but no more than 4 hours?
To ensure even burning and eliminate tunnelling you should burn each candle for at least 1 hour. This allows the wax to melt all the way to the edge and continue and even burn each time. If you burn for more than 4 hours the wick will become longer risking falling onto the glass and heating it up. Please make sure to follow this guide for the intended experience of burning a Luxury Willow Candle.
